I too have problems with a MA401RA. Different ones. At least it works
for me.

Relevant bits of my set up are a Netgear ME102 access point, a Fujitsu
Siemens S Series Lifebook with a MA401, and a Sharp Zaurus with a
Linksys CF card.

With the ME102 configured to accept both Open and WEP security, the
MA401RA works like a charm under FreeBSD.

With the ME102 configured to accept only WEP security, the MA401RA can
obviously see the access point, but can't transmit.

Under Windows 98 (spit) the MA401RA can't transmit with either of the
above variations. This might be due to Windows crashing when I was
installing the drivers. I installed again, but am not convinced that
all is well. Time perhaps to upgrade to Windows 2000 Professional or XP.

The Zaurus / Linksys work happily with both variations.

The lifebook is running FreeBSD 4.7-RC #1: Wed Oct 2 10:32:41 BST 2002

wio says this as it attaches:
