customer is running FreeBSD 4.6.1-RELEASE-p7 and was previously running firewire-20020717.tar.gz was able to load the modules fine and mount a firewire drive.. that drive went bad, and he got a a maxtor 5000dv. I saw the following messages in the syslog, but couldnt get the drive to mount..so I then unloaded the old kernel modules (sbp and firewire). I then downloaded /compiled/installed the new modules and I still couldnt figure out what the /dev/xxxxxx name was.. so I tried unloading the sbp and firewire modules. but now the firewire module wont unload because it says its in use.. linkerunload: attempt to unload file that was loaded by the kernel linkerunload: attempt to unload file that was loaded by the kernel linkerunload: attempt to unload file that was loaded by the kernel linkerunload: attempt to unload file that was loaded by the kernel linkerunload: attempt to unload file that was loaded by the kernel su-2.05a# kldunload firewire kldunload: can't unload file: Device busy any ideas? how can I find the /dev/xxxx name? the old one was /dev/sda1. but that didnt seem to work. Sorry, dont have the messages. do I have to reboot to get that kernel module unloaded?
