I just tried installing the port on 2 Dell machines (one an OptiPlex=20 workstation and the other a PowerEdge 2400 Server) at work. The workstation is running 4.7-STABLE built on 11/24/2002; it's pkgdb.db = file=20 is stamped Nov 27 21:26. The server is running 4.7-STABLE built on October 13, 2002; it's pkg.db f= ile=20 is stamped Nov 24 15:39. The workstation failed to portupgrade wxgtk-2.2.7 to wxgtk-2.2.9 The server, with no prior install of wxgtk, built 2.2.9 just fine. I did a pkg_create -b wxgtk on the server and ftp'd it to the workstation= then=20 did a pkg_add -P wxgtk-2.2.9,1.tgz. It complained about some versions of= =20 dependent files. I ftp'd the same package to my workstation here at home and pkg_add'ed it= as=20 well, it also installed and complained about the version of some=20 dependencies. When I compared the 2 lists of files it was complaining about, this is wh= at I=20 got: 10.0.1.9# pkg_add ~timothyk/wxgtk-2.2.9,1.tgz 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'png-1.2.4' 'png-1.2.5' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'pkgconfig-0.12.0' 'pkgconfig-0.13.0' is install= ed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'libiconv-1.7.0.1' 'libiconv-1.8_2' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'expat-1.95.4' 'expat-1.95.5' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'freetype2-2.1.2' 'freetype2-2.1.2_1' is install= ed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'glib-1.2.10' 'glib-1.2.10_8' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'gettext-0.11.4' 'gettext-0.11.5_1' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'XFree86-libraries-4.2.0_3'=20 'XFree86-libraries-4.2.1_4' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'gtk-1.2.10_7' 'gtk-1.2.10_9' is installed dhcp187-25# pkg_add ~timothyk/wxgtk-2.2.9,1.tgz 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'png-1.2.4' 'png-1.2.5' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'pkgconfig-0.12.0''pkgconfig-0.13.0' is installe= d 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'libiconv-1.7.0.1''libiconv-1.8_2' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'expat-1.95.4' 'expat-1.95.5' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'freetype2-2.1.2' 'freetype2-2.1.2_1' is install= ed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'glib-1.2.10' 'glib-1.2.10_8' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'gettext-0.11.4' 'gettext-0.11.5_1' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'XFree86-libraries-4.2.0_3'=20 'XFree86-libraries-4.2.1_4' is installed 'wxgtk-2.2.9,1' requires 'gtk-1.2.10_7' 'gtk-1.2.10_9' is installed 10.0.1.9 is my workstation at home, dhcp187-25 is the workstation at work= =2E I don't have any stale dependencies --I'm sure of that. Is it possible = that=20 something in the newer versions of the dependencies that wxgtk-2.2.9 (the= =20 package) was complaining about is preventing portupgrade from building th= e=20 port? And if it is, how the heck do I tell what might be the offending=20 culprit? I did manage to get it working, but having to build it on 3 different=20 computers before it succeeded strikes me as a bit odd.
