Funny, I had the same problem, i assume you did a 'make install' ?

Anyway, when I found that make install did not work for me, I copied the=20
binary manually. The old one can be found at /usr/sbin/named, I renamed i=
t=20
and copied the new one from inside the ports directory to its place. This=
 may=20
not be a very good idea, but it worked (:
