I'd like to use mplayer to listen to RealAudio streams, since Linux RealPlayer dumps core on me whenever there's enough network congestion to cause a long break in the stream. It apparently should work but doesn't, and I don't know why. I'm running FreeBSD 4.7-stable as of mid November, I have Linux RealPlayer installed (I checked -- /usr/local/lib/RealPlayer8/realplay exists), and I compiled mplayer with -DWITHOUT_RUNTIME_CPUDETECTION. I've tried both with and without -DWITH_OPTIMIZED_CFLAGS. Here's what happens: moran:~$ mplayer http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/realplayer/media/fmg2.ram MPlayer 0.90pre10-2.95.4 (C) 2000-2002 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS) CPU: Intel Pentium 4 Willamette (Family: 8, Stepping: 10) CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 0 SSE2: 0 Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 Reading /home/rjk/.mplayer/codecs.conf: 44 audio & 110 video codecs Font /home/rjk/.mplayer/font/font.desc loaded successfully!
