I'm gettting the error: su-2.05b$ vi .bashrc ex/vi: Error: Unable to create temporary file: Permission denied su-2.05b$ I am working on configuring a newly set up 5.0-RELEASE box. Permissions must be messed up somewhere. I can't believe that I neet to be root in order to create a . file.
