Hello. I have a 3C905 PCI 10Mb/s Ethernet Card, which i configure with: ifconfig_xl0="inet 10.1.2.15 netmask 255.255.255.0" in /etc/rc.conf. ifconfig shows: xl0: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 options=3<rxcsum,txcsum> inet 10.1.2.15 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.1.2.255 inet 10.1.2.126 netmask 0xffffffff broadcast 10.1.2.126 ether 00:00:5e:00:01:02 media: Ethernet 10baseT/UTP (10baseT/UTP <half-duplex>) I tried: ifconfig xl0 10.1.2.15 netmask 255.255.255.0 mediaopt full-duplex since it is connected to a full-duplex switch. However, network throughput will crawl, i.e, for example, listening to an mp3 from this machine will give 1 sec. of audio, then 1 sec. of silence, then 1 sec. of audio, and so on. Any hint? Is full-duplex known to be broken on this card? Do I do something wrong? bye & Thanks av. P.S. I almost forgot: uname -a gives: FreeBSD bane.ventu 4.7-RELEASE-p10 FreeBSD 4.7-RELEASE-p10 #2: Sun Jul 6 16:13: 25 CEST 2003 root@bane.ventu:/usr/src/sys/compile/BANE i386
