Hi, Well sorry to do one more post about sony ... I follow CURRENT (since 9momth) and still have a pb. Basically I want to make work a lucent orinoco card om my laptop. But the problem is that when I compile cbb/pccard/cardbus inside my kernel, my kernel crash. Some time ago either my computer completly hang, nothing moving and impossible to reboot it except by a power down. Now since a couple weeks it's doing much better but still doesn't work. Better see the logs, they are more explicit. cbb0: <RF5C476 PCI-CardBus Bridge> irq 9 at device 5.0 on pci2 cbb0: PCI Memory allocated: e8200000 cardbus0: <CardBus bus> on cbb0 pccard0: <16-bit PCCard bus> on cbb0 cbb0: cbb_power: 0V cbb1: <RF5C476 PCI-CardBus Bridge> at device 5.1 on pci2 cbb1: failed to enable memory mapping! cbb1: PCI Memory allocated: e8201000 cardbus1: <CardBus bus> on cbb1 pccard1: <16-bit PCCard bus> on cbb1 pcib2: possible interrupts: 9 pcib2: slot 5 INTB routed to irq 9 via \\_SB_.LNKG cbb1: cbb_power: 0V pci2: <serial bus, FireWire> at device 5.2 (no driver attached) (<- I removed the firewire from the kernel ... works fine without cbb) fxp0: <Intel 82801CAM (ICH3) Pro/100 VE Ethernet> port 0x4000-0x403f mem 0xe8200000-0xe8200fff irq 9 at device 8.0 on pci2 fxp0: Ethernet address 08:00:46:68:eb:f5 miibus0: <MII bus> on fxp0 inphy0: <i82562ET 10/100 media interface> on miibus0 inphy0: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto Then a bit later in the boot a get into this (full dmesg at the end): Timecounters tick every 10.000 msec Fatal trap 18: integer divide fault while in kernel mode instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc027a3cc stack pointer = 0x10:0xd6845bf4 frame pointer = 0x10:0xd6845bf4 code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, IOPL = 0 current process = 22 (irq9: cbb0 cbb1++++) acpi_cpu: throttling enabled, 8 steps (100% to 12.5%), currently 100.0% cbb0: card inserted: event=0xe8200000, state=e8200008 cbb0: Unsupported card type detected cbb1: card inserted: event=0x00000000, state=30000000 cbb1: Unsupported card type detected As I have the debugger I made a trace: kernel: type 18 trap, code=0 stopped at isitmychild+0x3c: movl $0,%eax db> trace isitmychild(c0477b40,c04783b0,0,0,d6845c28) at isitmychild+0x3c witness_levelall(c0478bf8,c0478bf8,c0442e8c,c0478ba8,c0442e8c) at witness_levelall+0x6c rebalancetree(c0445f44,c0477f00,c0278db0,c03e2dc5,c049b05c) at rebalancetree+0x93 isitmychild(c0478ba8,c0477f00,c03f81f8,2b3,c03f81f8) at isitmychild+0xbd witness_lock(c4073160,8,c03e2dc5,613,c0473960) at witness_lock+0x632 _mtx_lock_flags(c4073160,0,c03e2dbc,613,c4087e00) at _mtx_lock_flags+0xba fxp_intr(c4073000,0,c03f3567,215,c15255ac) at fxp_intr+0x34 ithread_loop(c151d900,d6845d48,c03f33e1,312,0) at ithread_loop+0x182 fork_exit(c0240390,c151d900,d6845d48) at fork_exit+0xcf fork_trampoline() at fork_trampoline+0x1a --- trap 0x1, eip = 0, esp = 0xd6845d7c, ebp = 0 --- db> c I also checked in the gdb where it corresponds, I don't have the gdb log but it was at the end of the function isitmychild on a return(0). And finally the OS boot... but the fxp network interface doesn't work properly. DHCP manage to get an IP, but then no traffic goes through the interface. If I remove the pccard stuff, then fxp is working great. As I remember when I have both pccard and firewire, then the kernel crash just after loading the firewire but still with a cbb message like: current process = 22 (irq9: cbb0 cbb1++++) I also tryed to remove all cbb, pccard and cardbus from the kernel and load them as a module with kldload. Here the kernel boots without any problem, I can have both the fxp and firewire loading correctly (couldn't try the firewire as I have nothing to plug in). The orinoco card is found (but doesn't work). You can also see another card which is a pcmcia adapter for compactflash memory card but I don't really care of it right now(better if it works anyway). Here is what I get: cardbus0: <CardBus bus> on cbb0 pccard0: <16-bit PCCard bus> on cbb0 cstsevent occured: 0x30000411 cbb1: <RF5C476 PCI-CardBus Bridge> at device 5.1 on pci2 cbb1: PCI Memory allocated: e8203000 cardbus1: <CardBus bus> on cbb1 pccard1: <16-bit PCCard bus> on cbb1 pcib2: possible interrupts: 9 pcib2: slot 5 INTB routed to irq 9 via \\_SB_.LNKG cbb0: card inserted: event=0x00000000, state=30000411 pccard0: chip_socket_enable cbb_pcic_socket_enable: cbb0: cbb_power: 5V pccard0: read_cis cis mem map dcdd4000 pccard0: CIS tuple chain: CISTPL_DEVICE type=null speed=null 01 03 00 00 ff CISTPL_DEVICE_A type=sram speed=ext 17 04 67 5a 08 ff unhandled CISTPL 1d 1d 05 01 67 5a 08 ff CISTPL_VERS_1 15 50 05 00 4c 75 63 65 6e 74 20 54 65 63 68 6e 6f 6c 6f 67 69 65 73 00 57 61 76 65 4c 41 4e 2f 49 45 45 45 00 56 65 72 73 69 6f 6e 20 30 31 2e 30 31 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ff CISTPL_MANFID 20 04 56 01 02 00 CISTPL_FUNCID 21 02 06 00 CISTPL_FUNCE 22 02 01 07 CISTPL_FUNCE 22 05 02 40 42 0f 00 CISTPL_FUNCE 22 05 02 80 84 1e 00 CISTPL_FUNCE 22 05 02 60 ec 53 00 CISTPL_FUNCE 22 05 02 c0 d8 a7 00 CISTPL_FUNCE 22 02 03 07 CISTPL_FUNCE 22 08 04 06 00 02 2d 0b c1 ec CISTPL_FUNCE 22 02 05 01 CISTPL_CONFIG 1a 07 03 01 e0 03 00 00 01 CISTPL_CFTABLE_ENTRY 1b 0f c1 01 19 76 c5 4b d5 19 36 36 05 46 7f ff ff CISTPL_END ff cis mem map dcdd4000 CISTPL_LINKTARGET expected, code 00 observed pccard0: check_cis_quirks pccard0: CIS version PC Card Standard 5.0 pccard0: CIS info: Lucent Technologies, WaveLAN/IEEE, Version 01.01, pccard0: Manufacturer code 0x156, product 0x2 pccard0: function 0: network adapter, ccr addr 3e0 mask 1 pccard0: function 0, config table entry 1: I/O card;
