Hi, After upgrading from 5.2-RELEASE-p2 to 5.2.1-RELEASE, with "option atapicam" I'm getting a panic on boot on a ThinkPad R32: [...] acd0: <UJDA730 DVD/CDRW/1.04> CDRW drive at ata1 as master acd0: read 4134KB/s (4134KB/s) write 2755KB/s (2755KB/s), 2048KB buffer, PIO4 acd0: Reads: CDR, CDRW, CDDA stram, DVDROM, DVDR, DVDRAM, packet acd0: Writes: CDR, CDRW, test write, burnproof acd0: Audio: play, 256 volume levels acd0: Mechanism: ejectable tray, unlocked acd0: Medium: CD-R 120mm data disc Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0x300032c fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc044bd00 stack pointer = 0x10:0xc0c21bf4 frame pointer = 0x10:0xc0c21bf4 code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = 0 (swapper) trap number = 12 panic: page fault [...] (messages typed) There is no difference, if I disable ACPI or have a medium in the drive or not. If I compile a kernel without "option atapicam" the panic goes away. Also, I'm getting strange error messages for the ATA slaves (there are no slave drives attached at all) even without "option atapicam": ata1-slave: FAILURE - ATAPI_IDENTIFY no interrupt Dierk -- |----+----|----+----|----+----|----+----|----+----|----+----|----+----|--< GPG Fingerprint: D14C 12BB 37A6 6745 7F4F F420 9E59 D79E A492 2A96 GPG KeyID : A4922A96 +------------------------------------------------------------------------+
