Unfortunately this breaks imake build. The reason is that the imake makefile expects to be able to override the top-level's Makefile SUBDIR variable by specifying it on make's command line. This won't work with a POSIX make, because a POSIX make passes command line variable assignments down to all sub-makes and they cannot be overridden by the makefile. The simples patch for the problem is to actually patch the top-level Imakefile to change the SUBDIR variable. Patch attached. harti --0-1969482101-1079954940=:55144 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII; name="imake.patch" Content-Transfer-Encoding: BASE64 Content-ID: <20040322122900.I55144@beagle.fokus.fraunhofer.de> Content-Description: Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="imake.patch" ZGlmZiAtdXJOIC0tZXhjbHVkZT1DVlMgaW1ha2Uub3JpZy9NYWtlZmlsZSBp bWFrZS9NYWtlZmlsZQ0KLS0tIGltYWtlLm9yaWcvTWFrZWZpbGUJVHVlIE1h ciAxNiAxMTo1Mjo1OCAyMDA0DQorKysgaW1ha2UvTWFrZWZpbGUJU3VuIE1h ciAyMSAxODoxNjo1NCAyMDA0DQpAQCAtNDcsNiArNDcsNiBAQA0KIAlAJHtF Q0hPX0NNRH0gPiAke1dSS1NSQ30vY2YvaG9zdC5kZWYNCiAJQChjZCAke1dS S0RJUn0veGM7IFwNCiAJICAke01BS0V9IE1ha2VmaWxlLmJvb3QgOyBcDQot CSAgJHtNQUtFfSAtZiB4bWFrZWZpbGUgU1VCRElSUz0iaW5jbHVkZSBjb25m aWciIFZlcmlmeU9TIE1ha2VmaWxlcyBpbmNsdWRlcykNCisJICAke01BS0V9 IC1mIHhtYWtlZmlsZSBWZXJpZnlPUyBNYWtlZmlsZXMgaW5jbHVkZXMpDQog DQogLmluY2x1ZGUgPGJzZC5wb3J0LnBvc3QubWs+DQpkaWZmIC11ck4gLS1l eGNsdWRlPUNWUyBpbWFrZS5vcmlnL2ZpbGVzL3BhdGNoLUltYWtlZmlsZSBp bWFrZS9maWxlcy9wYXRjaC1JbWFrZWZpbGUNCi0tLSBpbWFrZS5vcmlnL2Zp bGVzL3BhdGNoLUltYWtlZmlsZQlUaHUgSmFuICAxIDAxOjAwOjAwIDE5NzAN CisrKyBpbWFrZS9maWxlcy9wYXRjaC1JbWFrZWZpbGUJU3VuIE1hciAyMSAx ODozMDowMSAyMDA0DQpAQCAtMCwwICsxLDEyIEBADQorLS0tIC4uL0ltYWtl ZmlsZS5vcmlnCVN1biBNYXIgMjEgMTg6MjE6NTIgMjAwNA0KKysrKyAuLi9J bWFrZWZpbGUJU3VuIE1hciAyMSAxODoyMTo1OSAyMDA0DQorQEAgLTE4LDgg KzE4LDcgQEANCisgI2VuZGlmDQorICNlbmRpZg0KKyANCistICAgICAgICBT VUJESVJTID0gaW5jbHVkZSBjb25maWcgbGliICQoTkxTU1VCRElSKSBcDQor LSAgICAgICAgICAgICAgICAgIHByb2dyYW1zICQoRk9OVFNESVIpICQoRE9D U0RJUikNCisrICAgICAgICBTVUJESVJTID0gaW5jbHVkZSBjb25maWcNCisg ICBMTklOU1RBTExESVJTID0gbGliDQorIA0KKyAjaWYgSGFzUGFyYWxsZWxN YWtlDQo= --0-1969482101-1079954940=:55144--
