I use two harddrives & have to split the packages I install between them, so I has 2 default installation bases (/usr/local & /usr/X11R6) and one more for the 2nd drive: /usr2 . I found all packages contain pkg-config congifs (*.pc) hardcoded to package default location, not to the one specified with -p option to pkg-add
