Hi guys: The other day I installed 4.9-Stable on my laptop and I followed the handbook to setup my system (Updating sources, compiling kernel, compiling world and so on.. ) After installing the X window system, I installed some X applications from the ports: (firefox, gaim to name a few.... ) After launch these programs for the first time I realized that menu fonts where really crappy. The thing is that I had to install webfonts and to tune a little bit the X config file to get decent fonts. I don't know if I made some mistake following the rules in the handbook but if not I think it would be good to add my experiences in the handbook(The X Window System - Using Fonts in XFree86 section). Let me know what you guys think, David.
