--Nq2Wo0NMKNjxTN9z Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Ok, this world was cvsup'd on 2004.08.12 at 09:59:03 EDT. I removed the 'sound' and 'snd_maestro' device lines from my kernel config and decided to load them as modules (after I got the same output shown below with sound and snd_maestro compiled into the kernel). When I kldload 'sound', I get no output. After that, when I kldload 'snd_maestro', I get the following output: pcm0: <ESS Technology Maestro-2E> port 0x1400-0x14ff irq 10 at device 8.0 o= n pci0 pcm0: <SigmaTel STAC9721/23 AC97 Codec> pcm0: [GIANT-LOCKED] pcm0: offset 0xfffa1000 exceeds limit. pcm0: chn_init(pcm0:play:0) failed: = err =3D 19 pcm0: pcm_chn_create(aggch, 1, 0xc223e700) failed pcm0: offset 0xfffa1000 exceeds limit. pcm0: chn_init(pcm0:play:0) failed: = err =3D 19 pcm0: pcm_chn_create(aggch, 1, 0xc223e700) failed pcm0: offset 0xfffa1000 exceeds limit. pcm0: chn_init(pcm0:play:0) failed: = err =3D 19 pcm0: pcm_chn_create(aggch, 1, 0xc223e700) failed pcm0: offset 0xfffa1000 exceeds limit. pcm0: chn_init(pcm0:play:0) failed: = err =3D 19 pcm0: pcm_chn_create(aggch, 1, 0xc223e700) failed Here is the output from `cat /dev/sndstat`: FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Installed devices: pcm0: <ESS Technology Maestro-2E> at I/O port 0x1400 irq 10 kld snd_maestro= (mixer only) I am guessing that I get "(mixer only)" because the "pcm_chn_create" failed. The latest CURRENT that I was running before this iteration was =66rom sources that were cvsup'd on 2004-07-23 at 23:46:38 EDT. Any suggestions are most welcome, thanks. kernel config ----> http://michael.gargantuan.com/cyclops.kernel.config acpidump -t -d ---> http://michael.gargantuan.com/dump.asl dmesg -a ---------> http://michael.gargantuan.com/cyclops.dmesg --=20 Mike perl -e 'print unpack("u","88V]N=3D&%C=3D\"!I;F9O(&EN(&AE861E<G,*");' --Nq2Wo0NMKNjxTN9z Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFBG+ucsWv7q8X6o8kRAgplAJ4svIJD8u/L43p+sPgqJKFJhIoLgQCfQUel yADxq8XnLF7e4rJvkV/TWD4= =J+Pg -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Nq2Wo0NMKNjxTN9z--
