[keep replies to the list and I'll catch up next time I'm online, thanks] The beer's on me if this hasn't been fixed -- source updated late 22.Aug, haven't been online since then. I've just updated my source but haven't done a build, and it looks like there's still one problem that has not been addressed, just from reading the latest updates. NOT verified yet. The following makefile seems to need attention to get a crossbuild (from 4.x) to succeed -- failures in _depend step at first... --- /dist/src/FreeBSD5-src/source-hacks/sys/modules/linprocfs/Makefile-ORIG Wed Nov 19 06:08:26 2003 +++ /dist/src/FreeBSD5-src/source-hacks/sys/modules/linprocfs/Makefile-IS_THIS_S TILL_NEEDED Wed Aug 25 07:45:41 2004 @@ -6,4 +6,9 @@ SRCS= vnode_if.h \ linprocfs.c +# XXX HACK from current +opt_compat.h: + touch ${.TARGET} + + .include <bsd.kmod.mk> Note that this is identical to HEAD -- well, kinda. I don't see a MFC to RELENG_5 for this. Maybe it's been handled somewhere else. If so, the beer's on me too. Patch above is ugly and cut-n-pasted. See 1.12 of this file. The other problem that I hit appears to have been addressed in 1.70.2.3 of sys/netinet/ip_fw2.c,v (identical to my hack), so is probably no longer needed. I'll be building again with the source I've just updated and will offer my apologies if the above isn't needed, in about another week. (Slow machines and only sporadic access here) thanks barry bouwsma
