Well actually I put the setting in /boot/loader.conf rather than /boot/device.hints, but AFAICT they are the same: $ cd /usr/src/sys/boot $ find . -type f | xargs grep device.hints ./forth/loader.conf:loader_conf_files="/boot/device.hints /boot/loader.conf /boot/loader.conf.local /boot/nextboot.conf" Or am I incorrect in saying that this setting can go in /boot/loader.conf ?
