I took a closer look at the port Makefile:
=2E if !defined(WITHOUT_CONTROL)
IGNORE=3D is configured with ${DRIVERNAME}control(8) which you don'=
t need
=2E endif
i.e. you may need to rerun 'make config' and turn it off.
