I dont use (any version of ) google talk (skype works just great :) ), so these are only suggestions. Windows version may be using uPNP to open up your firewall. If i were you, i'd compare a tcpdump of both the google-talk (windows) vs google-talk (kopete) and see the difference. Or maybe google has locked down their servers so kopete cannot talk to them anymore . Good luck, Beto
