Committed on HEAD with some fixups, after regression testing on an SMP (dual i386) machine. The default number of multicast groups per socket available is now 31, with a final maximum of 4095. The structures are lazy-allocated. Sockets which do not use IPv4 multicast need not waste memory. Thanks, BMS
