compat4x doesn't seem to be running ldconfig after it's installed; I had to run "ldconfig -m /usr/local/lib/compat" manually otherwise the Opera build would die like so: ===> Installing for opera-9.0.20060616 ===> opera-9.0.20060616 depends on shared library: c_r.4 - not found ===> Verifying install for c_r.4 in /usr/ports/misc/compat4x ===> Returning to build of opera-9.0.20060616 Error: shared library "c_r.4" does not exist *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/www/opera. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/www/opera. -- Where there's a will, there's an Inheritance Tax.
