I have now attempted to test the October snapshot on my PowerMac G4.
I have tried both the -disc1 and the -bootonly image, both behaves in
exactly the same way.
This time there were MD5 / SHA256 sums for the ppc images also, so I
know that the images are good.

When booted with the "C" key, the kernel loads and boots, prints the two
lines reproduced below, and then nothing happens:
KDB: debugger backends: ddb
KDB: current backend: ddb

When boote from Open firmware with the command

boot cd:,\boot\loader cd:0, the exact same thing happens.

Any hints on what to try now?

I was thinking that maybe something had happened to my G4 hardware-wie,
so I also tried the 7.0-CURRENT-200608-powerpc-bootonly image again (it
was the last image I tested that would boot on this machine), and it
still boots ok from Open Firmware (with the "C" key, the kernel
panics).
