You can put the options in /etc/make.conf. That way you can't forget them when you're (re)building a port. For example, for apache22 you could put the following in /etc/make.conf: =2Eif ${.CURDIR:M*/www/apache22} WITH_CATEGORY1_MODULES=3Dyes WITH_CATEGORY2_MODULES=3Dyes =2Eendif This effectively sets the variables whenever make is invoked in a directory that ends with www/apache22.
