A Knob for texvc can be added, also for ImageMagick and the accelerators and
caches.
AFAIK it is not recommended to install MediaWiki in the DocumentRoot of a
webserver - ${LOCALBASE}/www is not the DocumentRoot.
So I see no problem to leave MediaWiki there.
