Hi Regarding http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/scanners.html, sane-find-scanner won't find a scanner if uscanner is in the kernel (as it is by default) in Freebsd 7 (uname -a FreeBSD burp.bogstomp.org 7.1-PRERELEASE FreeBSD 7.1-PRERELEASE #4: Mon Sep 8 16:11:35 EDT 2008 root@burp.bogstomp.org:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/BURP i386) I've also noted the "sane-find-scanner" man page erroneously states this device is necessary. I suspect there are other sane manpages that may do likewise. Cheers. -- first step to autoholic recovery: realising the 3000 lb gorilla on your back does not become you. http://www.autoholics.org/programme.php
