Here is my PVR-350 card: > root@kg-quiet# uname -a > FreeBSD kg-quiet.kg4.no 8.2-STABLE FreeBSD 8.2-STABLE #0: Sun Apr 3 > 19:49:05 CEST 2011 > root@kg-quiet.kg4.no:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64 > root@kg-quiet# portversion -v | grep pvr pvr250-20101010_1 > = up-to-date with port root@kg-quiet# grep cxm /var/log/messages Apr > 15 22:12:08 kg-quiet kernel: cxm0: <Conexant iTVC15 MPEG Coder> mem > 0xf8000000-0xfbffffff irq 20 at device 0.0 on pci2 Apr 15 22:12:08 > kg-quiet kernel: cxm_iic0: <Conexant iTVC15 / iTVC16 I2C controller> > on cxm0 Apr 15 22:12:08 kg-quiet kernel: iicbb0: <I2C bit-banging > driver> on cxm_iic0 Apr 15 22:12:08 kg-quiet kernel: cxm0: Philips > driver> FM1216ME MK3 tuner Apr 15 22:12:08 kg-quiet kernel: cxm0: > driver> SAA7115 rev 1 video decoder Apr 15 22:12:08 kg-quiet kernel: > driver> cxm0: MSP4418G-B3 audio decoder > Apr 15 22:12:08 kg-quiet kernel: cxm0: IR Remote > Apr 15 22:12:08 kg-quiet kernel: cxm0: [GIANT-LOCKED] > Apr 15 22:12:08 kg-quiet kernel: cxm0: [ITHREAD] > Apr 15 22:12:08 kg-quiet kernel: cxm0: encoder firmware version > 0x2050032 Apr 15 22:12:08 kg-quiet kernel: cxm0: decoder firmware > version 0x2020023 root@kg-quiet# ls -l /dev/cxm* > crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 0, 126 Apr 15 22:12 /dev/cxm0 This is what I see: cxm0: <Conexant iTVC16 MPEG Coder> mem 0xf0000000-0xf3ffffff irq 17 at device 14.0 on pci0 cxm_iic0: <Conexant iTVC15 / iTVC16 I2C controller> on cxm0 iicbb0: <I2C bit-banging driver> on cxm_iic0 iicbus0: <Philips I2C bus> on iicbb0 master-only cxm0: Philips FI1236 MK2 tuner cxm0: SAA7115 rev 1 video decoder cxm0: MSP4448G-A2 audio decoder cxm0: [GIANT-LOCKED] cxm0: [ITHREAD] cxm0: encoder firmware version 0x2050032 I suppose that's OK? Please note I had to remove IR from sources because my card doesn't have it. Anyhow, I tried to configure it using mythtv-setup and whatever type of card I tried it always displayed "Failed to open". I've updated the log at http://saul.homeunix.org:8000/tmp/mythbackend.log Does it mean I have to set up channels before backend can start? Or does it mean the card cannot be used? I appreciate your help. -- Cheers, Saul
