HI!

FreeBSD 8 uses a strange notation for multicast routes with interface local scope something like:
ff01:3::/32
Here '3' is the scope id of the interface.

OpenBSD uses the same notation as proposed in RFC 4007 for link local scompe multicast addresses:
ff01::%fxp1:/32

Why does FreeBSD use a different notation?

Rainer.
