And just as a sidenote: Reboot is not necessary to fis this, exporting and
importing the zpool does that, too:

This has worked flawlessly for me for years. I would really appreciate any
help in fixing this. Trouble started with 9.2 as far as I can tell (and
the original poster said the same). I have systems with 9.1 that do not
show this behaviour.
