I assume that our driver only allocated one packet per frame. This will max out at 64000 Bytes, or with 8n1 at 640kbps. If that is the case then maybe the driver should increase the number of packets per frame for bps rates over 600kbps. I just remembered that I own an FTDI FT4232H module. This one is capable of 12Mbps with 2k Buffers and high speed USB.
