Unfortunately, as of now, the vx0 "Vortex" driver supports only the 3C905A,
using a PIO mode for compatibility with the older 3C509 ISA cards. The B
revision of the Fast EtherLink is not supported, my system runs into
exactly the same problem if I load my 3C905B instead of my A (I have a pair
of them).

Hopefully the new xl driver should resolve this problem by implementing
dedicated 3C905B support, with full support for the busmastering DMA mode
the 3C905s are capable of. Time to watch them reach their full potential :)
