Hi: I can't get my NE2000 ISA card to work with my FreeBSD 2.2.6 box. It dedects it ok. Then, I ru ifconfig, and configure the card by: ifconfig ed0 inet 192.168.77.253 netmask 255.255.255.0 I know I'm using the right numbers, and I can ping 192.168.77.253(my address), but I can't ping 192.168.77.254 (IP of my laptop). I get a "ping: sendto: permission denied". I'm logged in as root, so I translate that as "hardware won't let you do that." Please send response by e-mail. Thanks advance for any and all help!
