I recommend _The Unix Haters Handbook_ (IDG Books 1994, ISBN 1-56884-203-1) by Garfinkel et al. to even the most ardent Unix aficionados. It's a great read, and filled with humor. But it also has hundreds of valid points of where Unix is screwed up. If anything, it serves as a specification of what to fix in future versions, or what not to do if you happen to be writing a new OS from scratch. -- Sean Kelly NOAA Forecast Systems Laboratory Boulder Colorado USA
