If I take the entire ports tree from a 3.0 or > a 2.2.2 box, will it transfer and make correctly? Not all. There are two reasons: 1) Kernel modifications and/or updated packages in the distribution will affect some ports. 2) 2.2.x and upper use a modified gcc-2.7.2.1. 3) The port subsystem has evolved. Look is www.freebsd.org/ports how to update your ports subsystem (a small package that Satoshi made available) and you may get out of issue no. 3. cheers, Pedro. > Bob Keys > rdkeys@csemail.cropsci.ncsu.edu
