Can anyone see any harm with this in syslog.conf? *.* /var/log/messages *.* /var/log/daily-messages I normally log _everything_ to /var/log/messages - which used to get cleared down on a daily basis... Now I archive all the logs on a monthly basis, but I'd still like a seperate file which gets cleared down on a daily basis - so /var/log/daily-messages would get processed and cleared daily... The above 'appears' to work? - Can anyone see any nasty problems with doing it? (Before I stick it on our other 6 FreeBSD boxes?)
