Can someone help with this pls. I gave a colleague one of the free 2.2.6 CD sets. He tried installed it he got "panic: cannot mount root" immediately after the npx0: INT 16 interface message. He has tried disconnecting all his HD's except for the one he is putting FreeBSD on, re-installed on that disk. The install completes successfully but on rebooting he still gets this error. He's tried both with & without the FreeBSD boot manager but gets the same result. I haven't actually seen his m/c as it's a bit difficult for me to go to his house. Has anyone any idea how to fix this as I've never had this problem. I'm concerned that we can fix this as my colleague is a Windows user and sometime Linux user so he's not particularly impressed with FreeBSD so far :-( -- Trust the computer industry to shorten Year 2000 to Y2K. It was this thinking that caused the problem in the first place. Mark Ovens, CNC Applications Engineer, Radan Computational Ltd. Bath, Avon, England.
