Autonegotiation is failing between your card and this hub. Specify
"mediaopt 100baseTX" as part of the ifconfig options, as in:
ifconfig_vr0="inet 192.168.42.1 netmask 0xffffff00 mediaopt 100baseTX"
in /etc/rc.conf.
