Works fine for me on my Sony Z505 (running 4.3-Stable from July) and an older Toshiba I set up for a friend (running 4.4-Release) I don't have the model of the Toshiba, it is in Florida and I am, well, NOT :-) The following line in kernel config device apm and this line in /etc/rc.conf apm_enable="YES" -stacy -- You'll see it's all a show.
