Hello there, I am one of your 'numerous' FreeBSD adepts and I wanted make you notice that the port version of gmake is pretty old (3.8 i am right), so it makes it hard to compile some other sources which require at least version 4.3 . In order to fix my compiling problems, i did deinstall the port and installed the version 4.3 from the project homepage. I have been using it without any problem for 1 motnh now. So may be it would be a good idea to look at it and may be update the ports? May be there is a security issue with 4.3, I dunno, but I just wanted to tell you so that you are aware of the problem. Thank you for the great quality of your OS!! Make it live forever :) To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
