Hello Doug:

I've downloaded Bind9 from three of the USA ftp sites, every time I run
named -v, the result comes back as bind 8.3.4. I was trying to run some
new BIND commands and named would puke errors. When I looked at the
version, it's the reason why it choked. I'm using the 4.8-Release and
installed the following packages -

freebsd# cd /var/db/pkg
freebsd# ls
XFree86-Server-4.3.0_2 freetype2-2.1.3_1
netscape-wrapper-2000.07.07
XFree86-libraries-4.3.0_1 frontpage-5.0.2.2623_1 ntp-4.1.73
apache_fp-1.3.27 imake-4.3.0 pine-4.53_1
bind9-9.2.2 ispell-3.2.06_3
pkgconfig-0.15.0
compat3x-i386-4.4.20020925 linux-netscape-communicator-4.8
qpopper-4.0.5
expat-1.95.6_1 linux_base-7.1_2
sendmail-8.12.8
fontconfig-2.1_6 netscape-remote-1.0_1
freebsd# named -v
named 8.3.4-REL Thu Apr 3 08:26:42 GMT 2003
        root@freebsd-stable.sentex.ca:/usr/obj/usr/src/usr.sbin/named
freebsd#
and I definitely installed bind9 a couple of time, then went back to
8.3.4, then reinstalled bind9 again. So if this can be corrected I
would appreciate it.
