Yep - looks good for booting now!

- in fact a little too good :

'boot -s' seems to just do 'boot'.

I am seeing a whole lot of 'read only filesystem' failures, and am faced 
with a login prompt - which of course I cannot successfully get through.

at least its progress :-)
