Except when you're tooting your own horn on IRC in front of a lot of people, I guess. I haven't seen any of the original distribs 'go away'. OpenBSD just released 2.3 a little while ago (and maybe they're out with 2.4 and I just haven't been over there). NetBSD is out and about, the whole iMAC issue is sure to make some waves if exploited properly. Then FreeBSD, well, 3.0 is out with ELF and finally Droo's make world works again :-). And lastly, the thousands of isps running FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD worldwide. Let alone anyone using a Whistle Interjet or other integrated device using BSD. (and any of the distribs I happened to leave out...) I'd say all in all, BSD is in some ventures that Linux isn't. The population is growing from my angle (lot more people on IRC using FreeBSD, for one), not depleating. But hey, Linus can dream :) --- Drew "Droobie" Baxter Network Admin/Professional Computer Nerd(TM) OneEX: The OneNetwork Exchange, Bangor Maine USA http://www.droo.orland.me.us PGP DSS/1024 Public Key ID: 0x409A1F7D To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-chat" in the body of the message
