Hello there. I have recently installed proftpd on my FreeBSD 4.10 box via the ports system. I was stumped as to why the server wasn't booting up! I did some searching on Google and I found the solution; a scoreboard file has to be created. I'm curious as to why the ports install behaves like this? What use is there for the user to create this file manually? And better yet, why isn't it documented on the port? ---Reference--- http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-questions/2004-February/037367.html
