Hello! i'm curious whether s/p-dif on via8233 is working at all or not. can anybody tell me a success story? i've knew that Ariff said 'making s/p-dif on via is too trivial than any mammal can do it without making a noise' but i suppose i'm not a mammal at all, because i cannot make it work :( freebsd-6.2-stable pcm0: <VIA VT8237> port 0xa800-0xa8ff irq 22 at device 17.5 on pci0 pcm0: <Avance Logic ALC850 AC97 Codec> pcm0: <VIA DXS Enabled: DXS 4 / SGD 1 / REC 1> and pcm0: <VIA VT8235> port 0xdc00-0xdcff irq 22 at device 17.5 on pci0 pcm0: <Avance Logic ALC650 AC97 Codec> pcm0: <VIA DXS Enabled: DXS 4 / SGD 1 / REC 1> no success. both of mb have coa[ and optical s/p-dif, but neither of them work turning on hw.snd.pcm0.spdif_enabled leads to shut down analog output only. -- SY, Marat
