hi, just installed 6-release and want to build a new kernel. After doing a cvsup this afternoon i get this. My last Freebsd box was 4.11. I've never seen a kernel build fail. Am i missing something? [root@snoopy /usr/src]# make buildkernel KERNCONF=GENERIC -------------------------------------------------------------- >>> Kernel build for GENERIC started on Sun May 7 19:37:24 PDT 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------- ===> GENERIC mkdir -p /usr/obj/usr/src/sys cd /usr/src/sys/i386/conf; PATH=/usr/obj/usr/src/i386/usr/sbin:/usr/obj/usr/src/i386/usr/bin:/usr/obj/usr/src/i386/usr/games:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin config -d /usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC /usr/src/sys/i386/conf/GENERIC config: /usr/src/sys/i386/conf/GENERIC:72: syntax error *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/src. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/src. here's me trying the old way: [root@snoopy /usr/src/sys/i386/conf]#config GENERIC config: ../compile/GENERIC: No such file or directory FYI: [root@snoopy /usr/src/sys/i386/conf]# uname -a FreeBSD snoopy.schmut.com 6.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 6.0-RELEASE #0: Thu Nov 3 09:36:13 UTC 2005 root@x64.samsco.home:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 any help would be greatly appreciated.
