I just installed 4.1- Release from the CD- ISO Image. The network was configured for DHCP and my network card (fxp0) is assigned an IP But when I looked into the broadcast address, I found that instead of setting all 1's for the host part, it iwas all 0's .(i.e) it is 155.229.80.0 instead of 155.229.83.255 (Subnet was 255.255.252.0) I have configured samba-2.0.7. When I ping my BSD machine BY IP ADDRESS from other machines it works. But ping BY HOSTNAME fails. So I manually changed the broadcast address to the correct one and it worked. Any suggestions why this happens in 4.1-RELEASE?. Other machines running 4.0-STABLE are working fine.
