Err... no I didn't. I wasn't very clear in my explanation though -- sorry about that. I showed that the old version (2.3.1) was treated as newer than the latest version (2.3.1.a) -- ie. going in reverse, as you said. The important bit was that it could be fixed without bumping port epoch by making the port version come out to 2.3.1a -- that missing dot makes all the difference.
