I recently upgraded to FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE and compiled XFree 4.0.1 from /usr/ports and get this error when i try to run XFree86 -configure: XFree86 Version 4.0.1 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6400) Release Date: 1 July 2000 If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems. (see http://www.XFree86.Org/FAQ) Operating System: FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE i386 [ELF] Module Loader present (==) Log file: "/var/log/XFree86.0.log", Time: Sat Dec 16 14:48:57 2000 (--) Using syscons driver with X support (version 2.0) (--) using VT number 9 Fatal server error: xf86EnableIO: Failed to open /dev/io for extended I/O Does anyone know how to fix it ?
