The manual for HP StorageWorks MSL5000 and MSL6000 Series Tape Libraries clearly states the drives are individual SCSI targets. <http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01125957.pdf> found as 3rd from the BOTTOM of <http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&tmp_geoLoc=true&document=&product=329885> Apparently (see page 199 in the PDF) there is no internal SCSI wiring, you need to add all SCSI wires by yourself - i. e. drives must be daisy-chained to the library controller. Can you see the drive if you move the SCSI cable and terminator from library to drive, or if you daisy-chain things?
