I assume you upgraded from > an older version of FreeBSD? > bitypes.h is in /usr/src/contrib/bind/port/freebsd/include/sys/bitypes.h and /usr/include/sys/bitypes.h very true. i upgraded from 5.0(-RELEASE) to 5.1. I removed /usr/include/sys/bitypes.h, and now it works! thanks for the tip. (hm, are there other .h files that are not used anymore?)
