Heh, lemme guess, you did this: cd /usr/include; grep -aR 'struct ifreq' * ...and came up with nothing useful, yes? :) It's one of those icky stickies, because the whitespace between struct and ifreq is actually a tab character. :-( Do this instead: cd /usr/include; grep -aR 'struct[ ^V ]* ifreq' * ...where " ^V " is space Control-V TAB (to get your shell to use a literal tab) and you'll find your answer: net/if.h:struct ifreq { Ciao, Sheldon.
