Unfortunately this error also occurs if I do a backup of my freebsd server to my tape-device on my NT WS (500kb/sec max). But you could be right. The problem occurs quicker if I do continious high-speed transfers. Unfortunately I never managed to complete a backup via samba before the NT WS went down. :( The problem doesn't seem to be related to any specific protocol.
