ok I understand.
If you like, we can add a port for your fork, then users can decide if 
the stick to upstream version or using your version.
What do you think about this?

I can also add you as maintainer to the port if you like.

If you need then an update, just create a patch, create a ticket in 
bugzilla and give me a ping or the mailing list.
